Dramaturgic idea by Maria Grazia Calandrone

The concert/play is dedicated to Clara and Robert Schumann and weaves together an original poetry writing for the theatre with a musical dramaturgy conceived and composed on the basis and in completion of these writing.
Clara, at the bedside of her husband shortly before his death, speaks of the flourishing of the human and spiritual adventure of a predestined meeting, in which only the voice of music keeps alive and acute the presence-absence of Robert, who is now reduced to silence.
This musical voice at times creeps into the text and other times emerges vehemently, evoking the Schumannian multiform emotional personality.

The compositional dynamics between the script and the music, their close and constant dialogue, and the scenic articulation of the work were ‘orchestrated’ by the four soloists on stage in a series of  extremely lively and ‘daring’ rehearsals (we all had the desire and the urgency to experiment!), with the valuable contribution of Antonella Agati, who strongly supported our meeting together, had followed the work from its birth and enthusiastically organised its visual realisation.
Lastly, to Maria Grazia Calandrone, the wonderful author of the script, we express our heartfelt thanks for having responded with such enthusiasm to our ‘commission’ with a work of such deep musicality.
